I really need to update this place more often. Guess that is the curse of social media sites like Facebook. It takes all the live out of us to actually write more than just a few word blurbs.
There is no current news going on right now. Work has banned us from affiliating ourselves with them on any online site such as Facebook. So, yeah you read that right they do not like social media sites, which means they are one of the only companies that do use them to gain more customers. A shame really, but oh well; If I could tell you who I work for you could see by their website that the design is So 1995. Perhaps by 2020 they will catch up to using social media, but by then something better will be out and they will behind the curve again.
On other news Verizon turned up 3G in this area finally. Which I’m only a month or so behind in sharing this news. Anyways maybe I’ll actually post something sooner than 6 months this time around.
Oh and the blog subdomain for the “Photo Blog” will be going away. I use Flickr more now than that site. Maybe I’ll use it for EVE Online or something else.

I’m working on my Red Hat Certified Engineer certification. I’ve been working with Linux a lot lately at work and it just seems like a natural progression to get this Cert. Plus, it might give me something to use as a tool to move up in the company.
As for the site, I’m not sure if I want to stay with WordPress or switch over to either Drupal or Ruby on Rails. I like this current theme but it isn’t compatible with the iPad. The Right column doesn’t mesh well with the smaller display. I will also try to update the site more than the last year or so. I have been really busy with work and before it was work and finishing university. Anyways I’m going to “try” to update more regularly, one to keep me writing, and two to show off some of the stuff I’m working on, such as the photography, 3d, and software stuff.
Perhaps I’ll have something posted in the next few days rather than months this time.

I get to shoot another wedding in the next month or so, which means it gives me an excuse to buy a new lens. I’m looking at the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM lens. It would be my first zoom lens as I currently only have Prime Lenses.
On other news I’ve recently bought into the Avid Technology owned Digidesign Mbox 2 family with Pro Tools LE 8. It is fun to play with all the soft synths, and my keyboard controller the M-Audio Axiom Pro 49 just rocks with it. The main reason I bought into Pro Tools is so that I could have clean audio vocal recordings for when I make audio books for my nephews out of children books. Also it is nice to have an industry standard audio application that has a clear upgrade path for such things as 7.1 surround sound mixing for future endeavors.
Avid is one of my favorite companies for Pro level applications. I originally started out with them with Avid Xpress Pro which is now discontinued. Their flagship Editing software Media Composer dropped in price which made Xpress Pro not a viable option. Plus, Media Composer is so much more powerful and feature rich that it was a good move on Avid’s part to drop Xpress Pro.

Once again Google’s Gmail is down. Very frustrating when I need to get access to some information that is stored in my email and I can’t get to it. I was thinking about paying for a Business account but with so many outages recently I’m starting to think that might be a bad idea.
All I get is a blank white screen and a infinite rotating icon in Safari.
I guess it is time for me to get a power nap in before I have to be at work in an hour.
